| Characteristics of the Wood: | The dense, tough, course textured wood has a white sapwood and reddish-brown to brown heartwood. The hardwood is often contains bird peck and dark brown streaks. Is is shock resistant and excellent for steam bending. |

Cabinetry, furniture, chairs, bentwood furniture, striking-tool handles, drum sticks, and flooring. |

The dense wood will quickly dull cutting edges of hand and machine tools making it difficult to work. It glues satisfactorily. |
